Lake Granbury is a scenic rural recreational haven that has 103 miles of shoreline. Lake Granbury has 5 public boat ramps, two fishing piers, and 4 overnight excellent camping areas. The Granbury City Beach provides a boat ramp, public swimming, and picnicking. Lake Granbury is on the Brazos River in downtown Granbury, off US Highway 377 about 35 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. It was created as one of 3 lakes in 1969 by damming the Brazos River. It is contained by the De Cordova Bend Dam.

Fishing is great at Lake Granbury! Striped bass, White bass, Largemouth bass, Longnosed Gar, Crappie, Sunfish, and Channel and Flathead Catfish are plentiful in the lake and around the 1000-plus boat docks and piers.


Lake Granbury Beach


The Granbury Opera House which is listed on the registry, still hosts Broadway productions as the Texas Star Theatre. Built in 1886, the Opera House was restored and reopened its doors to professional, live theater in 1975.
